This is a Chinese dessert that we can get for $1 back home in food court and hawker centers. It is what we get in Chinese restaurants too. The dried longan that i got this time from Halifax is of a better quality one, as you can see the soup is very clear.. and i didn’t have to soak it and throw away water after water… before cooking it. The red dates are of superior quality too.. huge and seedless.. and the white nuts are canned. I don’t get to cook it often .. because it is not often i can get all the ingredients.. and because no one eats them except me.. so you can imagine.. how long it takes me to finish a pot. Oh .. i put rock sugar too.. in it .. but not alot.. because I’m diabetic.. plus i really donch like sweet stuff.
