Honey Ginger Lemon Drink

Yer know back in Asia.. we can all go to the mamak store.. and get some teh halia (tea with ginger), for less than a buck but they donch have the same kinda tea that we have back home, so when you are nursing a cold, this is what we chinese do .. in Canada.. in a “ulu” town.

serving for one

1 cup water
1″ or so ginger root, roughly chopped
1 organic lemon wedge
1 teaspoon honey, or to taste

Bring the water and ginger to a boil, then lower flame, add the lemon (squeeze it into the water then drop the whole thing in) and keep at a low simmer for a few minutes. Pour into a mug and stir in the honey. This would help with your bad throat.. and also bad flu.

Hmm… your version of teh halia sounds a lot healthier than the one I get at the local mamak, where I suspect it’s just instant powder mixed with hot water. Nothing like a home-made brew, no? 😉

    Hey.. Kenny,
yup.. home brew is better.. 😉 but can’t beat the convenience of a mamak store.. 😉
