McDonald’s Fine Customers

Posted by crunchasaurus rex | Amusing/Bizarre, Fast Food | Thursday 15 May 2008 9:32 pm

Eat up .. and move along is the message that McDonald’s is telling their customers in England. Else risk getting fine ..! And I’m so not kidding. At 40 McDonald’s in England drive thru’ customers were given 45 mins to finish their meals and leave the parking lot before a $225 ticket is issued. Apparently this was brought about because people were abusing their parking privileges at the establishments. And if you do not pay the fine, the fee rises and McDonald’s will take you to court for it.

We see awful loitering outside and inside of our famous coffee place - Tim Hortons. Perhaps Tim Hortons should take a page outta what McDonald’s is doing ..?? Maybe that would keep the people from blocking the door at Tim Hortons.. and the awful cigarette butts all of the entrance of Tim Hortons.

HouseKeeping In Hotels

Posted by crunchasaurus rex | Hotels, Useful Links, Useful Tips | Thursday 15 May 2008 9:20 pm

On vacation and staying in any hotel, one must think that every hotel has a huge housekeeping department but truth be told, no executive housekeeper would agree with that statement because room attendants are hard to come by and good ones are even harder. It is hard work to be a room attendant, you are allocated a number of rooms to finish before your shift ends and therefore, each room is only allowed a certain amount of time for cleaning.

To help with cleaning the exterior of a hotel like window cleaning, a hotel usually contract a professional company like the Window Gang. By doing that, the hotel not only ensure that the room attendants are not over-stretch at work but the crew are fully insured and bonded with worker’s compensation, that way the hotel is not liable should an accident occurs. But that is not only the reason why a hotel would farm out their cleaning work, most importantly the crew is thoroughly trained and there is absolutely no need to supervise their work. A win-win situation for everyone working in the hotel.

Executive Chef

I had the misfortune of working with one of the executive chef back home but luckily not directly under him. .or anywheres near him. I was in communications .. so I had to liaise with him every now and then for the hotel’s promotions. Being his co-worker was the most unfortunate event of my life.. because he was not only grouchy.. but thought he was a genius (so entitled to being a grouch) .. and he had such a messy love life.

Everytime i bumped into him. .in a night spot.. he thought i was spying on him..!!!! GOT TIME..!!! Anyhow.. he thought he was a casanova.. and that all women should fall on his feet. Sad eh..?? Of course, when me and my friends.. didn’t even acknowledged him. .when we met him outta work area.. he felt slighted… and well.. of course he wasn’t too happy. Hurt his ego .. i think. I’m wondering if all executive chefs are like that..?? And because of this particular person.. i never wanna have anything to do with any executive chefs.

Building Hotels

15 yrs in a task force for a large hotel chain in Asia, whereby we were brought in during the initial stage before the hotel was even on the ground and its supporting beams up, I can only say that steel building was the best material to use when building hotels. Not only did the owners benefited from the price of putting up a steel building, steel has resistant in aging unlike wood. It doesn’t lose it strength, therefore it is safe for use for hotel rooms. Construction was fast and most importantly it was fire resistance and makes it absolutely safe for our hotel guests of the future.

Yogurt is something that my lil’ brat eats since she was young. And she loves it!! and i’m really happy seeing her chomped it right down. And then i found this organic yogurt in the market. Stoneyfield farm is the world’s leading organic yogurt producer. They said it is a body and earth friendly yogurt. They also used organic milk from Canadian farms, along with organic fruit and cane sugar. Each serving of yogurt boasts of prebiotic and probiotics to help replenish intestinal microflora. In other words, it is good for kids and adults. Plus they also have baby yogurt called Yo, Baby! for toddlers too. Made from whole milk… that provides the energy toddlers need and helps their bodies to absorb fat-soluble vitamins. Comes in plain, strawberry, vanilla, Apple blackberry and cranberry raspberry flavors. I think it is awesome that they are also giving out coupons to entice you to try.

Sun, Sea & Food

One of the thing that I looked out for when i go for a vacation is the food .. or what kind they served or how many restaurants they have. If you didn’t know by now.. Canadians flock to Costa Rica by the dozens during the coldest month of winter and take refuge in the Costa Rica resort.

The open air restaurant at the beach features exotic creative fusion cuisine in the tradition of nuevo latino. From breakfast to supper, you can eat till your heart’s content. The chefs who are internationally trained prepares my favorite and freshest sushi. The resort is an excellent place to rejuvenate and to bond with a loved one, with a spa that offers a full range of beauty and massage therapy. They even have a studio/dojo for yoga, kickboxing and cardio workout classes. The pool is a beauty, a spilt level one with a sculpted waterfall connecting them. A gazebo to relax in and lounge and sip your margaritas. We loved this place, it is so romantic and almost heaven on earth.

This is only a summer thing with Macdonalds, just like their lobster sandwich. Every summer.. the Macdonalds here do try to bring in something new for limited period. Many years ago, when the American dollars were great.. we get alot of Americans coming over just because of the lobster sandwich. I kid you not..!! This Vanilla Ice Coffee just started about a week ago. But you have to make sure you tell them to give you more ice.. because the first 2 times i bought it.. it wasn’t that cold.. and quite sweet. So with more ice.. it actually tasted good. In anticipation of a hot summer.. this $1.39 Vanilla Ice Coffee is a great thing.

Kramer Cooks In The Shower

Posted by crunchasaurus rex | Useful Links, Useful Tips | Thursday 15 May 2008 12:32 am

I don’t know if you are a fan of Sienfield, if you are not then you should see him in one episode where Kramer does everything in the shower because he has a power shower head. He peeled his carrots and washes his vegies and does just about everything in the shower, it was hilarious.

For someone who is as eccentric as Kramer, he would need to get a walkin tub, it is definitely alot safer since he does everything in the shower. The bathtub is designed with safety in mind. Can you imagine having to juggle a knife, some potatoes and then trying to get in and out of the tub.. because you want to use that power shower head..?? Yes.. very dangerous.. !! might fall and even hurt himself really bad. These tubs can fit into any bathroom that has an existing regular size bathtub. So if you know of someone just like Kramer or in need of a walkin tub, send them over to this site.
