Take Out Lunch From Jungle Jims

Jungle Jims had a special offer .. whereby 2 can eat for $11.99 .. and we decided to do a take out for a late lunch.  Lunch was like at 3pm .. by the time it came to the store.. and no they didn’t deliver.. we went to pick it up.  I think they do have the service for a few bucks, but don’t forget you have to tip the driver too eh.

The Chicken Fettuccini came with a piece of garlic bread.. but only a very light hint of garlic.  The fettuccini was kinda dry.. but it was ok.. the red peppers i can do without.  Was there chicken in it..?? yes.. some .. but not too much.. but that was quite alright.  For $5.50, one cannot expect a lot lah.

The man had an order of nuggets and fries.. but an extra order of onion rings.  The chicken he liked the last time.. he said was better than macdonalds.. and the onion rings were ok.. but nothing spectacular.. but darn expensive.  Like $5 for a side order.  We should have ordered it from Jake’s instead.

The fries were eating by the babysitter and the kid.. both didn’t say anything about it.. it was just food i guess.  At $20.. it wasn’t a bad meal.. but not really value for money.  Had he not ordered the onion rings.. now that would have had been different.  No drinks .. or anything.. just the food.

Egg Crazy

I had an egg craving .. because i haven’t had eggs for a few months now.  Why..?? because of my operation … about 4 months ago.  And my excuse for making some omelets was we will be having guests at our home to get some  life insurance quote , well.. they are actually friends.. who are in the insurance business.  And instead of making the usual lunch .. we decided to do a late morning brunch when they come over on next Sunday.

I love that we can put different things in an omelete to suit our individual taste. I love mushrooms.. so of course you see some mushrooms here.  And i also need some form of meat.. and since i didn’t have any canned ham.. i used some sliver of turkey meat.  And donch forget the cheese.. the kid said.

Here we have .. home made omelete good enough to feed my guests.

Healthy Cooking

Healthy living comes with healthy cooking.  If you live in the west like I do now.. you know why the Westerners are a lot more bigger than us .. the Asians.  While the Asians would  not touch anything fatty  from a mile away, the Westerners .. just devours them down.  Some i seriously think .. they don’t mind it at all.  But the modern Westerners are more cautious about their  health.. and those of their children.

I still fry a lot of my food.. but steaming is always the best.. when it comes to a healthier choice of eating…. and cooking.  Plus i find that steaming one’s food is a lot less work .. like the washing part.  The George Foreman Grill .. is heaven sent.. when it comes to someone who loves BBQing their food.. and grilling.  Grilling is great.. because the fats are being drained away.  Especially in the winter.. when one has to stay indoors all the time.. a good grill meal does warm up the body.. and the heart.. and even the man .. who doesn’t like to cook.. must cook now.. because grilling is “the man’s” thing.
