Below is a special request from a reader here.  I know some of you are from Japan and Asia, and i also know that you can find this flavor of Kit Kat in Japan and in some parts of Asia.  Please help, Jerry .. as a favor to me..???  pretty please..???  If you need Jerry’s email addy, just leave a message or comment.

Many thanks in advance..!!!  And for those who will help .. i promise you password to Soul Food ..  😉  Show your kindness and generosity and all good things will come back to you – i know so because look at all the blessings i get from awesome folks out there.

Hi Mamabok,

I am getting married this coming September 20th and was wondering if you can entertain my request. I know you and your friends may have additional sources that I can not find online myself (my search skills are weak). My wedding is an Asian-Fusion ceremony and reception located in Laguna Beach, CA. Question: Do you know where I can find Cherry Blossom (Sakura) flavored Kit Kat bars? I know they are prevalent in Japan but in limited quantites. Any leads is Greatly Appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help with matter.

Special Update for Jerry:

Hi MB,

Hope you and the family are having a good weekend.

We just came back from our saturday shopping at our favourite Japanese store, and guess what we I bought?! Its not the same as what Jerry wants, but it is from Japan, but its close as it is Cherry blossom and Vanilla flavor (so its white and pink balls). See attached pic.

The store is called Fujiya: http://www.fujiya.ca/, and I am sure if Jerry contacts them, they could get more of those in for him as all their products are straight from Japan.

Take care!

Above is the picture sent by M – thank you very much M.

Update :  Ok.. those who donch have info, also can leave comment to congratulate Jerry lah..! donch cost you nothing, just a kind word goes a long way eh.

    These are neat!!!
I am now in Texas,USA but I have been ordering infant formula online through this very reliable website that operates from Japan. I have searched high and low and can never find a website that would handle special requests for Japanese goods. Finally, I found this special website. They are very efficient and their staff are all very nice. This particular website is akinaiblog.com I have ordered from them repeatedly and mine were all special requests. They always go out of their way to help me research my products and translate the instructions from Japanese language to English and even help me save on shipping costs. I highly recommend them to Jerry.
And Jerry to you, Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!! Good luck!!

  10. Comment by Jerry — March 28, 2009 @ 2:17 pm

Thanks Mamabok and FRIENDS for your overwhelming response to my request. Thank you to all for your well wishes; it is deeply moving and heartfelt. I will try these sites that you guys and ladies have suggested. I want to provide these as wedding favors for our guests and will be ordering enough for them. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake we are having cupcakes. There are other fun things (i.e. a photobooth, candy bar table, etc). Thanks again for making this come to fruitation. Thanks again.

  11. Comment by Jerry — March 28, 2009 @ 3:40 pm

    Hi Ping Pong,

I am looking for enough for 150 guests. I tried the sites that some of you suggested but to no avail. I can pay via Pay Pal if you need me to. I submitted tickets for those sites to help me search for them. Thanks again.

    Warm Regards,

    3. I don’t know if this is going to help or not but when I was in LA this week, I saw KitKat in flavors that I have never seen before. Maybe if Jerry talks to the store managers, they can try to bring in some cherry blossom flavor for him. The store is called Marukai and there are a bunch of them in the LA area. Hope you find them Jerry.

Thank you everyone for your diligent searches. If I can’t find the cherry blossom kitkat bars, I will purchase the mini balls. I am orginally from southern california but moved to northern california about three years ago. I met my finacee in san diego and we both moved back to the bay area where she is from. I will try to talks to the managers about purchasing some for me. I’ll provide Mamabok and everyone an update to both the kitkat and the wedding.

Congrats Jerry. I so happen to be browsing the Mitsuwa website and just noticed that the New Jersey branch is having a Strawberry Fair between 3/26 – 4/5. During this period it will be selling over 50 confectionaries from Japan. Maybe you can call up the New Jersey store and ask if they have the Kit Kats you’re looking for. Good luck!

  37. Comment by tsuchiyama — March 31, 2009 @ 3:14 am

    HI Jerry, congratulations,
This sakura kit kat (taste like cherries) was sold in Japan since 2006.
It is normally launched in Spring, slightly before April . In Japanese katakana pronounciation kit kat sounds like kitto katto(means definetly will win, definetly can go through) therefore kit kat was very popular with students . ( is like a good symbol products, symbolise student could pass through the examinations and move to the next step)
I do not know whether this product is out on the shelves yet this yr.
There are many different kinds of aji (flavours) in Japan ranging from frutis to tea to beans and even soy sauce flavour.I like the triple berries aji best.

  38. Comment by love me don't hurt — March 31, 2009 @ 3:28 am

congrats jerry! wishing u and ur honey a long and happy life together!
i hope u find the kit kats, you might want to try jusco, a japanese based supeermarket in asia … im sure they have a website!
    best of luck!

  39. Comment by tsuchiyama — March 31, 2009 @ 3:43 am

    Hello Jerry,

i have sent an enquiry mail to Kit Kat Japan awhile ago to check the availability of this flavour and whether this sakura aji(flavour) kit kat be in store in US or not .
I will inform you of the status on Mama Bok comment board. Bye.

  40. Comment by leon — March 31, 2009 @ 5:46 am

wow i never thought it will be so hard to find this because in australia these are on the streets everywhere, but im not absolutely sure its fully cherry blossom flavour but i’ll scout around for it ^^

  41. Comment by tsuchiyama — March 31, 2009 @ 6:15 am

    Hello Jerry,

I have received the reply from Kit Kat Japan. Due to the fact that this flavour is not so popular (quite sweet) in Japan, the manufacturer has stopped the production of this flavour ( sakura fuumi?-cherries flavour) this year. The manufacturer might consider to launch this flavour next year, depending on the demand in Japan market.
    I hope this information helps.
Hi mama bok, sorry no time today to click into your sponsors,. will click in right away. good day.

  42. Comment by Chloe — March 31, 2009 @ 3:26 pm

it was introduced in spring to coincide with the tradition of Cherry Blossom season and sometimes near valentine’s day.

International sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Sakura (Cherry)
Posted: 12:50 Mon 13-Feb-2006. Price: $1.80. Location: Japan. Sub-flavours: See below. Nutritional unusualness: None noted.
“Peter Payne” reports: To help Japan’s thousands of entrance-exam students, Nestle has brought out new Sakura Kit Kat, a delicious cherry flavored treat with breathtaking images of cherry blossoms on the box. The new Kit Kat is quite good, very pink and tasting of something other than cherries (since it’s “sakura” and not actual cherry fruit).
