Triplets Strawberry

Posted by mamabok | Amusing/Bizarre,Fruits,Health | Wednesday 25 March 2009 3:14 pm

Strawberries can be really cheap here in Canada.  At $2.99 a box of strawberry .. it’s a pretty good deal.  But it’s even cheaper.. when you can pick them straight from the “ang moh’s” parents garden for they grow them for sale in the summer as well as for making jams.  The brat loves strawberries, raspberries and blueberries from Grampie’s garden.  Come this summer, i will be showing you all the fruits and vegies they grow in their 5 acres garden.  Yes..! that’s a lot of land… but considering they have 100 acres the garden is nothing. And yes.. it’s as organic as it can get.

strawberries are really yummy and my favorite! make fruit smoothies with them! I usually blend a handful of strawberries with 1 banana, sometimes with a few slices of oranges or apples and 1/2 cup of ice. Really yummy and healthy snack! since i’m pregnant now I usually pour some milk in there too to make it more smooth~ I hope you’ll blend some smoothies too!!!

Price of strawberry has dropped so much in NYC this week. The average cost is from $1.00 – $1.29 per box. But personally I don’t think strawberry is in season yet. I rather wait until late May – early June when it’s in season and taste the sweet. =)
