Kindness begets kindness, that was what my grandmother taught me. As for myself, if you know me even remotely, you will know I’m all gung-ho about doing good and giving back to society.  Mother’s Day is over , the prom is this weekend for my babysitter, what are you up to today or tomorrow..??

Chloe’s favorite is corn on the cob.  She cannot get enough of it… and will eat as much as you give her.  Corn is absolutely easy to cook.. and healthy too.  So if your kid isn’t eating healthy.. you can try corn on the cob.  10 mins.. is all it takes to cook the corn.  If you haven’t seen corn growing in Chloe’s grampie’s garden.. let me know.. i’ll look for a picture for you.  Fresh from the garden to the kitchen.

Chloe is in love with strawberries.  For those who are not aware of this.. her grandparents grow their own.. and sell some – afterall, they do have more than 100 acres of land eh.  But this was store bought.. and she wants to show you all how big these strawberries are.  During the summer, Chloe picks her own strawberries from the garden of her grandparents and eat them fresh.  Fresh peas, fresh corn, fresh blueberries .. and raspberries.  Chloe had this for a snack before going to bed – she insisted on healthy snack wor..  *roll eyes*

Not many men knows how to pamper their wives.. yes.. training is very important.. else they will drive us nuts eh.  So all to be married or not married girls out there.. make sure you train them from the very beginning.  My grandmother used to say… it’s better to be loved than to love.  And oh.. so true.

1. am singaporean married to italian and have been living in Milan for the past 13 years.
2. have a girl of 10 and a boy of 7.
3. i should’ve 3 kids but my first born died after birth frm a congenital lung disease. am not a christian but thank god everyday for my other 2 kids.
4. i held myself up pretty well after my daughter, Sara’s death. Here in a foreign land with foreign language, it was insane!
5. would love to have more kids if it hasn’t been for Sara’s disease.
6. after this experience, believe more in fate.
7. am still wondering if it’s love with hubby after all this years cos i met him on a rebound. hubby is a good and honest person but doesn’t know how to pamper me or maybe i didn’t know how to TRAIN him to do it.

I’m sure you all know that I live in a very small town.  A town so small that we only have one radio station to choose from. They do have an online presence but most times I can’t put it on because their bandwidth is overloaded or something of that kind.  So if I am home cooking.. and you all know that I cook a lot since the brat doesn’t eat any other food but home cooked food, it can get really boring cutting and chopping and stir frying, with nothing in the background.

Anyhow, I’m getting long winded – haha!!  I am a big fan of John Chow – don’t know who?  John Chow is an Asian living in Vancouver B.C.  – yes, same country as I, but different province – the other side of Canada. Singapore is known as a food paradize.  If you have ever been to Singapore.. you would know that coffee shop and hawker food are the best .. and the cheapest.  One can eat a feast for as little as $10 or $60 depending on what you wanna eat.

A few days ago, I wrote about making some Red Bean soup..  but i didn’t have the right orange.  I asked everyone to guess what i used instead.. and some really had some great guesses.  Others took the opportunity to ask me for some links *slap forehead* but this is what i did.  Made orange zest outta the orange.. and the red bean soup tasted really good still.  Not as good.. as i would have expected.. but it wasn’t bad.

See the oranges floating on top.. yup.. those were the zest i put in.  I told you .. migration makes one really smart.. muahahhaha!!!

This is long over-due.  Sorry .. !  Tsuchiyama .. that i took so long to thank you officially.   This arrived more than 10 days ago.. and I had been so busy.. because of Chloe & her school stuff.. and the store of course, that I had not gotten the time to take a picture of the food that was sent all the way from Japan.  The postage is extremely expensive.. and I’m forever grateful to Tsuchiyama for being so thoughtful.

On each individual food..  Tsuchiyama had taken time to write out what i was supposed to do with it.. and how it should be eaten.  Definitely got my heart..   I am really thankful.. for your generosity.. and your kindness.  I donch know how to repay you .. Tsuchiyama.

I’ve made so many wonderful ppl on this food blog.. and i’m forever grateful for all your friendship.  For those who are still waiting for your passwords, i wanna let you know that Lina is working really hard on it.  Once again.. THANK YOU VERY MUCH .. TSUCHIYAMA!

Since this is a food blog, I figured I would share with you .. a picture of my kitchen.. in hope that you will share your picture of your kitchen too.  As you all know.. the way to your kid’s and man’s heart is thru’ the tummy ..  and as a mummy, I really try hard to make home cooked food for my kid .. no matter how tired or busy we are.  She is somewhat spoiled .. and don’t really eat anything except home cooked food.. and french fries.  So show me how your ktichen look like..  and let me get to know you.

Usually even my table cloth is put neatly away, so that messy table cloth is “ang moh’s” job.  So come on .. be a sport.. and send me pictures of your kitchen.. and tell me where you are from eh.
