With summer round the corner, this soft serve ice cream stall opens it doors for business again.. and for ice cream lovers like ang moh and the brat.. they never failed to go and get their smooth ice cream.  This week was chocolate – while the ang moh had chocolate .. the brat had a vanilla and chocolate small.  But small was too much still for the brat. so i had to ask for a cup .. and a spoon as usual .. and scooped them out for her .. a little.

Since i’m diabetic.. it works out really good for me.  But this place is really stingy with their little plastic cups and spoons.. and whenever we ask for it.. they are not too happy.  Therefore, we try to go to the other place .. to get the ice cream instead.  Afterall, how much can that lil’ cup cost them right…??

Not like we are el cheapo. and donch wanna buy another cone.. but the brat can’t finish it.. and i can’t eat too much.  So it works out for us..  and look at the brat enjoying her ice cream.  She is a really good kid.. and never eats the whole cone.. always in moderation .. because mama said so.

Saturday afternoon.. i received a call from Mr Zhu from the chinese restaurant. He asked if we could hang around for abit more in the evening.. because he has something for me.  I said sure – at 9pm.. he came by our store.. with a box of BBQ ribs..!!! woohoo..!! it smelled really awesome lah..!!!  the ribs were huge.. just like the ones you get from Tony Roma’s .. and just in time for dinner.

So we rushed home lah.. to eat it fresh.. and hot.  Of course, ang moh eats it with bread.. i ate it with my assam fish curry rice.. without the fish.. but that’s another story for another day.  See that ang moh..???  that’s the reason why i fell in love with him. .ONLINE..!!!  Does online relationship works..??  yes of course..!!! but it needs to have a good foundation lah..!!  not meet overnite. .and fly and get married lah.

Yes..! i’ve been busy.  We’ve just been commissioned to create an online awareness for Mr Zhu’s restaurant.   Yes..!  i do this too..    if you are wondering.. but many would already have known by now.  So while my this blog is running into some technical problems.. i decided ..that i should do a good turn for Mr Zhu who had been feeding me ALOT lately.  It is not done yet.. but I will be in a week or soon.  In the meantime, I just want you all to know that I’m well… but darn busy lah.

Alice had sent a box of food from home in April and exactly on the day of my birthday.  There were a packet of quality mushrooms in them.. and as you all know.. chloe loves the mushrooms.  Whenever i cooked mushrooms .. they are almost all eaten by Chloe.. i try not to eat too much.. that way she gets to eat more.  You know how all mothers are right.  Leave the good things to the kid – but anyhow, these mushrooms are from Alice.. from Singapore.. my hometown.  Thank you again .. Just wanted to show Joey .. how much Chloe enjoyed the pocky .. that she sent from Japan.  Thanks again.. !!  I have a video but haven’t had the chance to put it up.

See how thickly coated the strawberry were and because it was so good.. i just had to share it with the few ppl that we know.  Very precious.. only one stick for one person.

Julie is from the very nice island of Hawaii..  !!!  anyone going to Hawaii.. donch forget to say .. aloha to Julie now.  I know she will be happy to meet up for a drink at least.  Julie wants to share a night of good food with all of us ..  enjoy.  And yes.. i’ve been to the one in California and Beverly Hills as well.  I love it.. but food portion darn huge lor, i remember my co-worker who traveled as much as i did many years ago told me that she was into colon cleaning and I should too because we eat a lot when we travel for business.  And no.. colon cleansing is not what you all thing .. it’s not awful at all.

Anyhow, tonight I had a opportunity to join my boyfriend for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. It was a beautiful evening with good music, gorgeous people and yummy food.

We started off with a tossed green salad. The dressing was thousand island. (The salad was so huge!!) –please see attached pic.

Another appetizer that we got was the
ROADSIDE SLIDERS
Bite-sized Burgers on Mini-Buns Served with
Grilled Onions, Pickles and Ketchup.

From the description in the menu, I thought it was going to be tiny. Boy! Was I wrong!

The main dish was the best. It was the CAJUN JAMBALAYA PASTA
Shrimp and Chicken Sauteed with Onions, Tomato and Peppers
in a Very Spicy Cajun Sauce. All on top of Fresh Linguini.
It there most popular seafood dish!

These were in the huge box that was sent to me .. by Tsuchiyama (Joey) all the way from Japan.  It sure had lots of goodies .. and we had been so busy.. we haven’t ate anything from the box yet till the other day.. we opened up this box of Mixed Berry – pocky stick like.  It was so yummy.. and you could smell the berry smell before you even put them in your mouth.  Thank you so much .. Tsuchiyama (Joey) .. chloe loves it so much.. and we still have one box left of it.. that we shared with the customers/friends that came into our store.  They were all so amazed at how good they were.   Thank you again for your thoughtfulness!!  as we unveil the food sent by various friends from all over the world,  fans of this blog can look forward to an intro to each of them as we use our new camcorders to record all the goodies we are cooking or eating.
