durianmochi

Mr R – who was in Halifax this week for some system memory – had gone to Bedford to get me some groceries that the other Asian Grocery store doesn’t have – very  nice indeed of Mr R.  I had called the store and asked them for frozen durian but I guess the Vietnamese woman didn’t quite understand me – so she gave this to Mr R to bring home for me… LOL!  but it’s better getting the whole durian fruit with spikes and all back eh – coz’ i wouldn’t know how to open it .. hahhaha!!

I’m glad the mochi wasn’t the huge big ones that I usually see from home – these small ones are just good for diabetic like myself – so I don’t kill myself with sugar overdose.. hahhahaha!! and it was pretty good.. but not much of durian taste though – but nevertheless I loved it .. but gotta eat them sparingly as 3 pieces of this is 17 grams of sugar.

I’ve never tried durian mochi before. I will look for it over here but don’t think I’ve seen it in the Chinese shops before. Well, I will just have to keep looking…eh?

Nothing can compare to the real fruit, creamy and pungent…oops, I mean fragrant. LOL!

YUM, I love durian! In Hong Kong, they have this durian dessert in a pancakelike dough. The durian is encased in it with cream and tastes delicious and not too sweet! I miss that.

Durian – just LOVE it! Had some last week, it was so yummy. I had never seen durian mochi before. It looks interesting. Michele, I also love that dessert – must have it when I go to Hong Kong. I miss it so much too. My boys hate the smell of durian, so I have to hide when I eat it.
