PB & Chloe loves this – and you probably only see this during Christmas and Easters – so the other day – I was out at the mall and saw some of these in different colors and you know me – I had to get some for Chloe’s school friends too.  So I bought a few boxes and sent it to school for her classmates – hoping they will liked it since Chloe does.

Well, some loved it – but some didn’t – but that’s ok.  Have you tried Peeps before – they are just marshmallows covered with sugar coating.  I ate a little once – last year but you know me – I don’t quite like sweets.

Room Service In Hospital

The local hospital has a new program these day – it’s called the Dial for Dining while you are staying in the hospital.  Will the food be served by nurses in their  nurses uniforms or professional caterers in scrubs?   Will they be like the French waiter I had in Paris’s hospital?  I must say I’m quite impressed that they will be having this program – because we all know hospital’s food suxs big time!  no offense to the cooks or hospital or anyone – I guess it’s only because we are so sick – so any kind of food wouldn’t be good.  But we all know we have cravings even when we are sick – so this Dial for Dining program – is probably more for the pregnant mothers – or those who are in recovery and getting ready to discharge – but not quite there yet.  It will take about 40 mins for the food to be delivered – so you will have to order it before you get too hungry – and I’m always bad about deciding on what to eat – so the 40 mins wait wouldn’t work well with me.  I haven’t seen the menu as of yet – and I’ll try and get a hold of the menu as soon as they come out.  But Room service in hospitals are not new – in fact in Asia – and in Europe, they already have such a service/program and I hear that they are quite successful.  But like everything new – it’s a novelty – and I’m sure some patients will enjoy a wider range of selection as they spend time in the hospital recovering.

For those who loves desserts and sweets – you have to check out Mr Sweet – Thomas Lui – who owns Thomas Trillion – opened in February this year.  Thomas Lui is one of the best known names in the pastry scene in Hong Kong and all over Asia.   Thomas Trillion is located on Wing Hing Street – Hong Kong. I’ve tasted some of Thomas Lui Pastry at the Mira Hotel and they were a work of art.   So I’m pretty sure you will enjoy this show too that I found on the internet.  Thought I would share this with all food lovers – who doesn’t love food right?  well, one person – PB!!!!!

We haven’t been to Jungle Jims for a long time now – so we decided to pay our old friend Jungle Jim’s a visit a few weeks ago for Chloe does love this place.  Don’t get me wrong – we loved Jungle Jim’s – they have good food and good prices  but because we order take outs from them throughout the week when Chloe isn’t at the store, so we usually don’t eat at Jungle Jim’s during the weekend – we usually wanna try something different.

jj1

Chloe only wanted her favorite fish and chips and PB had the same but with sweet potatoes fries.

jj2

We loved the sweet potatoes fries but Chloe refuses to eat t hem – I don’t know why though.

jj3

This was the toy that Chloe got from the treasure box at Jungle Jim’s – one of the reasons why she loved Jungle Jim’s.

jj4

PB reading his book from his kindle – thanks to Wei Li from Crazymommy – from United States who mailed it to us – from USA so that it got here in time for PB’s Christmas pressie.

And Chloe coloring and occupying herself and being a good kid.

Chloe’s artwork – can you guess what story she was trying to make?

My Dining Table

dining

My dining table used to be used for putting all of PB’s and Chloe’s miscellaneous stuff when they got home from work and school.  There were magazines and games and all sorts on my dining table.  So one day – I told PB i wanted new chairs for the dining table and wanted to clear the table so that we can all have a meal on the dining table in the dining room – like a proper family.

So my dining table was all done up a few months ago – cleaned with new dining chairs and we still haven’t sat on it to have dinner or lunch once a week – we still prefer to eat with the tv or computer on – *sigh* – hopefully come summer – there will be no excuses – or I might just have to sux it up and get a plasma fixed onto the wall – a small one.  What about you – show me your kitchen eh – send me pictures of your dining room and tell me how often your entire family eats on that table.  We are so ashamed *hang my head low*.

French Roast

frenchroast

So you all know I have a fancy coffee machine now ! woohoo!!!  Thanks to my kind sponsors – I’m able to review the different kind of coffee – from the K-cup brand for all of you to know.   That way – if you bought a Keurig Coffee Machine – you will kinda know what kind of coffee you would like to buy.  But if you had a gift store like Sandy’s Gift store down on Main Street, you don’t have to worry because they have open boxes of different kind of coffees for you to try before buying the whole box.

Plus I do like Sandy’s Gift store – they have unique gifts – and they are very personable and they know exactly what they are selling and they will go the extra mile for you.  Unlike big stores – they don’t really care if they make a sale or not – because it’s not their store and they are mostly there to earn that pay cheque.   So yes! support your local store – because they are the ones who will take care of you.

As for the French Roast – I like it but I found it a little bit strong for my liking.  Will I buy it again – probably not – but for those who loved strong coffee – yes!  definitely recommend you the french roast.   A box of  18 is $11.99 which makes it at $0.67 cents a cup  and a box of  24  is  $15.99 –  also at $0.67 cents – so not much diff – whether you are buying a box of 18 or 24.  Hope you find the review useful.

Multi-Cultural Festival

fest

So we went to the Multi-Cultural Festival last week at the Rodd Grand Hotel – with some of my girlfriends here and their awesome kids and we had a great time.  Of course, we had our dinner first at the New Century Restaurant and we took Adele’s car to the Rodd Grand Hotel as Lynette needed to pick her friend up for the event.  We were greeted at the door by the exchange/foreign students who made an effort to show us their home town and country.  Some who lived in the city and others in the country side where their parents own their own farm and worked with heavy machinery – one even showed me how he changed the  hydraulic hose in his father’s tractor. Very interesting kid – I’ll have to say.

fest1

We also had exchange/foreign students from Germany and again – her parents owns a brewery – and she too helped out during the holidays before coming to Canada.   Talking with these foreign student makes me think of the time when I was in Glasgow during my university years.  I also invited them to visit Chloe’s grampie’s farm where they can see him do some farming and using heavy machinery like the tractor in his farm.  Chloe told the kids – that they can help her grampie change his hydraulic machine if they want to – hahahah!! so cute!

fest2

And of course, we have these loving students from Italy – who introduced us to the mask making of Italy and the annual carnival of Vernice.   They had usable end fittings for the mask – and I reminded them of the float that was in the carnival.  One float had this pumping bubble machine on it – that pumped out bubbles while it goes by the road.  The children during the carnival had a blast.  The exchange students were surprised to hear that I knew so much about their carnival.

fest4

The turn out for the multi-cultural festival was pretty good I must say and everyone was very engrossed in the presentation and the games that followed as you can see in this picture.

Here’s chloe working on her mask with the exchange students.

The very sweet/pretty exchange student from Italy.
