Beef Masala By M & M

Posted by HoWeiSek | Food From Home,Food Review | Friday 8 April 2011 4:30 pm

BEEFCURRY

The girls didn’t introduced the beef masala to me – i just happened to see it and thought I should give it a try.  After all, you all know how much I craved for food from home right.  And I’m happy to say that they were pretty good and tasted like Indian curry, eaten with Jasmine rice – they were excellent.

BEEFCURRY1

The beef masala comes in a box – that you an microwave to heat up – it is not frozen and takes about 5 minute.  You have to cook your own rice or noodles – to accompany the beef masala.  Although the picture shows with rice – there is no rice in them.  It does serves 3 portion – but of course, you will have to cook your own side dish to make it a meal.

BEEFCURRY2

The cost of the box of beef masala is about $9 –  a wee bit expensive in my opinion – but beggars can’t be choosers right?  so yup – I’ve already eaten a few boxes of them – they are quite addictive.   I prefer them with rice than noodles – but you may feel differently.  So if you are in Canada – I’m sure you will have an M & M’s nearby – do try some.

Spring Cleaning

cleaning

Spring is here – and it’s time that I get started on my spring cleaning and since this is our almost 7 yrs in our house – we have to give our carpet a good cleaning/shampooing too. We don’t have a specialized carpet cleaning company here – unlike those I found online  called  carpet cleaning raleigh nc – so we just might have to hire a friend to help us with the shampooing.   I was checking out on the prices offered too – for comparison in case I do find one here – and they were quite reasonable as well.  At $150 – you can get all 4 rooms – the hallway and stair cleaned  – told yer the prices are awesome.  They also do sofa, love seats and area rugs as well – pretty wide range of services.  Now that I have the prices for one professional carpet cleaning company – I can make comparison – for future reference.  What about you?  do you do spring cleaning?  do you just pack up stuff and store away ?  or give your home an overall – in the cleaning department?

easter

Easter chocolates are a huge thing here in Canada – as you can see – this year the Easter chocolates comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes.  From the traditional rabbits and eggs to football and Hello Kitties.   We buy a few things for the kids but always wait till Easter is over before we really buy chocolates because they usually go for half the price.

easter1

Cute right? but chocolate is just chocolate to us adults but the kids well – the would love it.  Lucky for us – chloe never demands for chocolate or treats.

easter2

I planned to get some of this unique boxes of chocolates for some of chloe’s good friends.

Italian Sausage With Pasta @ Peg’s

There are some eateries that you can go again and again – without feeling tired of the food because they have such a wide range to choose from – from their menu and Peg’s family restaurant at downtown Yarmouth is one of them.  A few weeks ago, I tried their italian sausage with pasta – and it did not disappoint.  I was expecting a whole sausage – but the cut up sausages weren’t bad at all.  In fact I do like the bite size sausage better.  The pasta was sun dried tomato pasta and look at the broccoli - they were really freshed and cooked just right – not limpy.

pegs1

Of course it came with a soup first and I had coffee, chloe had her usual fish and chips and PB had his chicken cordon bleu.  I’m the only one who is determined to eat everything in the menu.  But thus far – all their food has been pretty good.   The service was great – and we went there just in time before the crowd came in.   There were several tables that Sunday – but the waitress came back often to check if we needed anything else – which was definitely a nice touch.   The pasta was about $12.95 – pretty good price for so much food – and coffee was really cheap too.  So if you are in downtown Yarmouth, Nova Scotia – head over to Peg’s family restaurant – that serves good food at a decent price.
