Found some really pretty maple leave cookies at the local grocery store.  Every now and then. .they do come up with something really cute.. and colorful.  But this maple cookie definitely tasted like maple syrup.. but that’s to be expected right.  We could smell maple syrup .. even without opening it.  No special occassion when we saw this.. i guess.. it is just a Canadian thing eh.

These are organic carrots that my in-laws grow in their garden. No pesticides.. and guaranteed organic. I think they sell them for $1.50 a bunch.. and they are extremely sweet.. very different from the ones we get in the grocery stores. My in-laws indulges me.. and my fascination for organic food and any other things. They would gladly let me take all the pictures i want for my blogs. I can never ask for better in laws.

Very pretty right..?? And really very healthy looking too.

I love cheesecakes..but not just any kind of cheese cakes. The plain ones like this one is my favorite but strawberry cheesecake is not too bad either. But if you know me by now.. you know i can’t eat too much sweet stuf.. and that’s not because i’m diabetic. I just don’t like eating alot of sweet stuff. A cake like this will last me 3 days. Hehehe!! donch laugh at me now.. when you get as old as I.. you kinda have to watch it too.

The man of course is a different story.. he eats anything chocolaty and rich..!! the richer the better. This is a mini boston cream pie. He said it was good.. but i didn’t wanna try it. Of course the daughter is like him. .. and eats anything with chocolate.

I’m truly an open face sandwich gal..! i liked to see what i am eating.. but not many places here in Yarmouth, does open face sandwiches.. and they don’t do it as well as i. I used a raisin and walnut bread.. and add some seafood salad and some chicken salad.. and that can be my breakfast or supper or even as a snack. Cheap, healthy and really easy to do. What about you ..?? are you an open face sandwich gal..??

I have a few restaurant reviews ..that i am so late with .. but i will be updating on that really soon.  So don’t you go thinking.. that poor me… not getting to enjoy outside food at all. .because it’s not true.. but i’m still not up to it to sit too, too long in front of the computer.  But check back real soon for these restaurant reviews.. around Yarmouth area.. and Halifax.

I was at a bakery the other day.. to get some mocha squares.. and the bakery had this open concept thing.. that you can see the kitchen.. and how the cakes..and desserts are being made.  I thought it was quite awesome.. and funky.  Then i also saw one of the young bakers.. wearing headphones while baking and decorating those mocha squares.  I guessed it is only here in the Western countries. .that bosses allowed their employees to do that.. because when i was in the hotel industry.. in Asia.. we would never be allowed to do that.  Working in Canada.. is alot different from working in Asia.. that’s for sure.

I haven’t had bagel for ages.. and i did really like Tim Hortons bagel for the longest time. So the other day .. i sent Keegan our babysitter/employee for our store.. to Tim’s..and i had told her to get me lots of light strawberry cream cheese. Because before my operation.. i had always asked for very little.. in fact next to nothing is best. So i guessed this time was payback time.. to me from Tim’s.. muahahah!! looked what they gave me.. on my sesame seed bagel.

Yup..!! it was so much.. i had to scrap off alot.. that day. Next time.. i wouldn’t dare asked for more.. else they take it literally.. muahahaha!! but the gals are really great at Tim’s..! i really liked them. They have a special place in my daughter’s heart.

After a weeks stay in the hospital.. i cannot tell you how bad the food at the hospital were. Either they were too sweet or too saltiest.. or just no taste. Tea and coffee weren’t any better either. I never ever want to eat hospital food ever again.. not even those in the canteens..! horrid.. horrid and horrid..!

My MIL made these.. before I went into the hospital for surgery. Not exactly for me.. but my kid loves it.. and it is definitely pretty eh. The ang mohs are really good at making desserts and cakes.. i tell yer..!

Recipe from my MIL :

Ingredients
1 pkg butterscotch chipits
1/2 c., peanut butter
1/4 c. butter

Method
melt all tog. on low heat until smooth
then add 1 pkg multi colored marshmallows
pack in 8 in. sq. pan
cool, then cut
u can use any flavored chipits
that should be 1/2 pkg. of marshmallows
