Yes ! i’m late again – Father’s Day was like a month ago – but what can you do when you are so busy with work and eating out so often .. muahahhaah!!  Not being a slacker but really busy and too much entertainment of late.  Anyhow, we went to Jungle Jims – our favorite place to eat in town.  Not only is the food of huge portion – the service is friendly – that’s the reason why we tip good too.

And more importantly – Jungle Jims is kids friendly – they have drawing and crayons for Chloe to entertain herself with – she just lovessss during and do the puzzles.

2 can eat for $11.95 at Jungle Jims therefore – it will never break the your bank account.  As usual PB ordered his onion rings and we settled for fish and chips for father and daughter – while i had something else.

This is all that Chloe would eat – therefore we only order 2 meals and a side dish.

Look at all big the portion of fish and chips is – a portion of it had already been scooped out for Chloe.  I can’t finish all that – neither could PB.

I had an onion soup with a BLT sandwich – i haven’t had this for a long time and this time the soup was perfect.  The wholewheat bread was also fresh.

So the pleasant surprise like i said on the title – we were minding our own business and Chloe was drawing when a nice older couple came to my side and said this to me.  ” I have to tell you something”  I was very surprised lah – afterall – the older couple was a complete stranger right.  And this was what she said  :”  you have a very beautiful and well-behaved daughter” Awwww.. !! so sweet right.  You see – Chloe unlike other kids would never run around any restaurant or be rowdy in public.  The reason why? is because we’ve always told her.. that other stores ain’t her store – so she cannot behave that way.  So from very young – toddler – she knows it – and anything she fuss up – out she goes back home or the store.  So whenever we are in the restaurant – she sits put – till we are ready to go.

Yes..! i tell PB we have to count our blessings and I too need to count mine – because PB takes care of Chloe whenever needed – whether is going to pee – for many years ( he would be the one to bring her) because of my poor health – i can’t bend over and help chloe.  Like this picture – Chloe had something on her face – PB took care of it immediately – i didn’t have to do nothing.

Ice cream sundae for a treat for Chloe but she never finishes it and PB gotta eat half of it for her – but the twinkles she eats them all.

We don’t usually eat Mcdonalds for breakfast – not because it isn’t tasty but I’ve eaten so much of it when i first came to Canada – kinda “jialat” (tired) – if you know what i mean.  But every now and then I would – want it outta the convenience because most likely i need to cook two meals that morning.  One for the lunch for Chloe and then make soup as well for dinner.

Many moons ago, i would always order the big breakfast – but after coming to Canada – i usually order the sausage Mcmuffin without the eggs and a hasbrown.  But once in a while i like to change taste and order something else unlike PB – he likes eating only hot cakes all the time – so boring hor.

So a few weeks ago, when we didn’t get to do much shopping the last week, i decided i want Mcdonald’s so that we didn’t have to go to Sobeys and get breakfast stuff instead.  I had hotcakes and sausage – no hasbrown this time – coz’ i won’t be able to finish it.  I asked PB what he wanted and he said “nothing” .. and then when we got home – he wanted to share my breakfast..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   can die or not..????  not that i won’t share it – mind you .. but had he told me.. he wanted to share – i would have gotten a hash brown too … MENNNN!!!  so in the end i didn’t eat enough – afterall – i had planned to have 2 pieces of hotcakes and the sausage but instead i only gotten 1 hotcake and a sausage for breakfast.  Really !! mennn!!!  is your man this way too..??  or is it just mine..????  almost like got gold in his mouth!!! MANNNN!!!

3 weeks ago – PB came back to the store after sending Chloe to her grammie’s – and told me that there was a charity BBQ at our local bank – well the Bank Of Montreal to be exact.  And since we bank with the Bank Of Montreal – of course, we have to go show some support.

They were BBQing hotdog and there were chips and drinks too.  Now the charity BBQ – you can get a hotdog, a pop and a bag of chips – now the awesome thing was – you can give any amount you like.

I would have preferred the real sausages like the ones  - we can get at the Farmer’s Market in Sydney or  Eumundi Smokehouse  @ North Sydney Farmer’s Market - YumS!  but this will have to do for that day.

PB had a hotdog too and a bag of chips – i only had the hotdog which wasn’t bad at all – but warming up the bread would be awesome – but tis’ for charity – so it was really nice to see the staff of the Bank Of Montreal out doing their bit.   Well done !  Bank Of Montreal!

In our household – I cooked all the chinese food – but that doesn’t mean that PB doesn’t cook – you see I never have to cook for him.  But if any western food needs to be cooked in our household – he does it.  From beef stew to potatoes and french toasts – he does it.  But you see, i sometimes get sick or am busy too – for my acne treatments , so what do one do?  We trained the man to cook – our chinese food too.. muahahahah!!

If my mother was staying with me – she would think that I have it made – you see – in our culture – the man don’t have to be in the kitchen.  They also do not need to wash dishes or scoop their own bowl of rice – nor do anything – well – that was in my mother’s house.  My father – needed to be served !!!  yes ! you heard me right SERVED!!!!   but nope – PB never asked for a cup of water from me ever – not that i would mind – but he is pretty much – a do it yourself guy.  What about your household..??   Are there still families who needs to “serve” their husband and their in-laws?

Yes! yes!  I’m so backlogged – but i did tell you – i was up to my eyeball with work right – not only was the store busy – my online work was steady.  And for Mother’s Day this year – PB made me some French toast with cinnamom and syrup – without me asking him to – he just did it.  So sweeeettt right..??

And some turkey bacon of course – i haven’t eaten the regular bacon for years now – it’s easier on the health i think.   I had a late breakfast and an early dinner – and we had dinner at PB’s parents – but that’s for another day and another story eh.  So what did you have for breakfast on Mother’s day?

Mysteries Of Love

I’ve always wanted to have the All Day Breakfast at Jungle Jim’s – so 2 weeks ago – even though it was lunch time – i decided to try their all day breakfast of the Ham and Cheese Omelet.  But i was torn in between the french toast and the omelet but chose the omelet instead for fear that the french toast may have too much sugar for my diabetic me. The omelet turned out pretty good – and i wasn’t expecting potatoes with it – so it was indeed very filling.

PB and Chloe had their fish and chips from their lunch special and a side order of Onion Rings  – as you can see lots of food as usual and only at $5.95 – cant beat that eh.

The coffee came free with the breakfast and this trip the coffee was pretty good – i finished my coffee – in fact I was tempted to have another half a cup but didn’t.  I had asked PB if he remembered how much the omelet was – he said he didn’t remember – but he rarely looked at the prices at Jungle Jim’s because the prices are very reasonable.

We like Jungle Jim’s too because it’s Chloe’s favorite as it is kid friendly. They  have special juice cups for them – and they have a treasure chest for them to pick a prize after they’ve finished eating their food.  As you all know – chloe loves drawing  and Jungle Jim’s has papers and crayons for her to color.

The staff are friendly – they have Tabasco sauce there !!  woohoo!!  and the owner of the establishment is really nice and friendly.

And they let us snap away happily – and this mandatory photo of father and daughter – for keepsake.

And i tried to take a good picture with the lil’ brat – but she just wanna cover up my face i guess – probably thinks mama is obese -  kekekekek!! so doing me a favor eh.

It was Chloe’s grampie’s birthday a few weeks ago – but as you all can see, we had been so busy that we didn’t have a chance to get him a cake till yesterday.  We had Mr B’s sister – Crystal – she is so talented do us a boobie cake for Grampie.  I had wanted Crystal to write “Happy Birthday, Old Fart” on the cake but she must have forgotten .. muahahah!!!  I had also wanted to get him some wrinkle creams but PB said he won’t use it – so i bought some for myself instead.  The cake tasted really good – according to Chloe’s grampie – even better than Sobey’s he said – so i’m really happy about it.  What do you think..?? like the boobie cake..??

I’m not really a cheese person but I do take them because of the calcium i need .. but like Chloe, I too, am attracted to anything pink although not as crazy as Chloe.  So this cheese is cheddar and come with vintage port too.   Very pretty looking if you asked me – and am so tempted to buy.  But alas, PB only takes cheddar plain – he is not into the arty farty things, he said cheese is cheese.

They are not very expensive either – about $5 a block – anyone tried it, please let me know what you think of it.  I prefer the creamy cheese but not too rich please.  What type do you take..??  I know, I know – to the cheese lovers it’s like asking them if the Ferrari parts are good for a Ferrari owners.

Not quite Valentine’s Day yet but since we were out getting a  doorbell button , the ang moh cannot helped but get a Valentine’s Day cake – not for me .. mind you .. but for himself – for you all know that i don’t fancy cake, plus being a diabetic it’s rather hard to get to like it that much.

Cakes are cheap here – and the ones you get from Sobey’s they are pretty good and it wouldn’t break your bank even if you get them for your friends and family.  The thing is this – this cake is gonna end up in the store because we are not gonna be able to finish it and it would go to waste if we don’t share it with our customers.   So why do the man still buy cakes..?? like i said..  it was cheap.

We were at M & Ms buying my pineapple chicken in a stick ( my version of satay in Canada)  and PB was also looking around and found these chicken Alfredo Bites.  It was on sale as you can see – so he bought it because I always want something different and looking out for foods that burn fat .  Being diabetic and all makes it harder to find the right food and since you all know that PB and Chloe are fussy eaters – one can only crossed one’s fingers and hope at least one would like it.

So how did it turned out ? pretty good  – in fact PB liked it – and would eat it again but you see – we found out later that they were on discount because they were phasing out this product ! what a bummer eh..!  it’s pretty easy to cook it – 400degree and 22 mins in the oven and eat it when it’s fresh outta the oven – don’t try to microwave it later – they tasted alright but not as good as when they were freshly outta the oven.
